Catchy title, isn't it?
Remember how folks were talking up how Clark raised nearly 3.5 million in 2 weeks? That means that, for last quarter, Clark raised 1,745,554 per week.
This quarter, even if he raises 12 million, he'll only be pulling in 1 million a week.
Only 57.29% of his previous quarter's weekly average.
Obviously, that's a ridiculous statement.
But so was the whole "2 week miracle" claim.
In all likelihood, Clark will be the second Dem candidate to beat Bill Clinton's fundraising record for a quarter. That's not too shabby. Especially considering January will be his fifth month as a candidate.
What will be interesting to see is how much of that money comes from $2K donors. A more realistic comparison to Clinton would be to halve that part of his donations, since the max contribution for Clinton was $1K.
Why am I rambling about this? A couple reasons.
First, I'm feeling a little snarky today.
Second, I'm really getting tired of the spin I read.
Third, I wanted to offer concrete evidence that Samuel Clemens was right when he said:
"There are three types of lies - lies, damn lies, and statistics."
